An elliptical curved stair for an extensive renovation project in Midlothian.

Job. 1622

Residential. Brief: Staircase + Interior. Style: Penicuik.
As with many of our projects, the stairwell of this renovation was to be the first thing anyone saw when coming through the front door. For us, that means making a piece of furniture that’s both impactful and flows well. The architect had designed an elliptical staircase over a three story stairwell – with no single tread being the same, as it curved around the adjacent wall.
As well as the actual staircase, we built the adjoining curved wall – resulting in a perfect fit and finish. We incorporated some display units within the curved wall under the stair and continued the wood finish into a curved first floor bridal to accentuate the flow of the space.

"We were thrilled with the level of craftsmanship, along with their professional and flexible approach. Nothing was too much trouble. Angus+Mack listened, and then delivered over and above the brief, employing great initiative and ingenuity. Their project management skills were second to none and every detail was considered. I feel very lucky to have found them and can’t recommend their work highly enough."
